I Want to Kiss
I want to kiss
where the wound does not bleed,
but stays silent.
I want to kiss
the world’s warm scab,
that dust where still burns
what you let fall.
The kiss—
that seed inside the Sun
unafraid to burn.
I want to kiss the light,
even if it blinds me!
I want to kiss the sky,
and may the wind,
that faceless animal,
graze my ribs
like one touching
a sleeping child
without waking it.
I want to kiss the sky,
because there floats the water
that took my heart.
There is no cemetery for that.
I want to kiss the heights,
not for elevation,
but because there,
pain has no edges.
I will kiss the sky!
Even if there is no mouth,
even if there is no flesh,
even if all is wind
and memory of what I couldn’t save.
